Six Water Networks Unite

As cities continue to grow, the need for fresh, clean water will continue to rise. With this in mind a partnership was forged among the United Nations-Habitat’s Global Water Operators’ Partnership Alliance, ICLEI- Local Governments for Sustainability, United Cities and Local Governments, Daegu Gyeongbuk Development Institute, the World Water Council, and the National Committee for the 7th World Water Forum. These six companies intend to work together to provide water and manage water sanitation while addressing the water needs of the cities they serve.

This is a business move that not only seems to serve themselves, but working together they can secure a better water future for the populace as a whole. The main objectives of this alliance include proposing road maps for local/regional authorities to reach the standards set by the Istanbul Water Consensus, assist in creating local water policies, and commit to providing means for cities to access clean water.
