For Alcohol Awareness Week, West Sussex City Council’s Public Health team will send out feather winged models to hand out free cups of drinking water in various clubs and pubs. The purpose is to encourage young drinkers to hydrate themselves between alcoholic beverages to protect their health.
This is a fine move. Drinking water between beers or cocktails not only prevents hangovers but has other benefits. The drinkers will be able to pace out their beverages which in turn will help curb drunken behavior. It might perhaps prevent possible assault due to having one too many. There’s also no better reminder to have a water break between beverages than a pretty angel handing you a glass.
