Man-Made Glacier Could Save Himalayan Villagers

The high desert of Ladakh in India has been suffering from a severe drought due to climate change. The area would have water when it wasn’t needed, but would be dry during the prime growing season. However, a mechanical engineer and some volunteers have built an artificial block of ice in order to help. The main aim is for the artificial glacier to melt when spring comes to supply water for farmers.
