Many physicians go back and forth on whether or not you should be drinking 8 full glasses of water each day to stay healthy and hydrated. Some are concerned that too much water is wasteful and has no additional health benefits. Others are sticking to their guns and saying that having 8 glasses is the ideal benchmark to a healthy life.

Adhering to the 8-glasses per day rule is probably more helpful than not. The reason being? You probably won’t drink that much anyway. More often than not, most people fail drinking that allotted number of glasses each day. Therefore, if the goal is 8 glasses, you’re likely only going to drink 5 glasses. Which is okay. You’re getting more than you would have done had you not tried to follow the rule anyway. So just drink up to good health.
