When we look at photos from space, the earth looks rich and blue. Many can clearly see that the earth is mostly water on the surface. What many don’t seem to realize that while the earth is very blue, it’s not a life-giving blue.
While it appears that the earth is drenched, 97.25% of earth’s water cannot be used for drinking, washing clothes, or other day-to-day tasks and needs. That’s not a typo. Less than 3% of earth’s water has to be shared among its population of 7 billion.
So what can we do? First, we need to collective evaluate what are necessities are in order to limit our consumption from frivolous needs.
