It’s holiday party season! If you enjoy a good lager or cocktail, it’s also hangover season! You know it was a good party when you wake up with a half eaten bag of crisps as a pillow and you feel like you’ve been hit with a train. The good news is there are some things you can do to beat the morning ache, and the easiest one is the simplest. Drink more water!
Alcohol is essentially a poison, and that’s the biggest reason why your body gets mad at you for consuming it, but it also dehydrates you. Drinking water and/or eating foods with high water content before drinking alcohol makes a hangover far less likely to ruin your day.
Drinking a couple glasses of water before passing out for the night will also help, but only if you’re conscious enough to get to a toilet later. A bag of crisps is one thing, but you really don’t want to wake up in a puddle.
