A steady and safe water supply is the basis of everyday life. During the recent storm being without water for a short time is expected, but having the pipes thaw and break makes the time longer. The damage that can be caused to a home and property by these breakages can be catastrophic. The money that is being put into bonuses and raises for the executives of the water companies would be better put to use in improving the water system and placing safeguards for just such an emergency as the recent storm and resulting damage.
