The United Nations has determined that all nations deserve access to clean, drinkable water and are taking steps to achieve that goal. After tense negotiations and planning, Ban Ki Moon, the UN secretary general, is hailing a “people’s agenda” that hopes to ‘leave no one behind’ for sustainable development.

One hundred and ninety-three countries have agreed to set goals and help each other build a better global future. By 2030, the hope is to not only give everyone access to clean water and sanitation, but also end poverty, achieve gender equality, and ensure food security.
