Southern water is working to create a much cleaner coastline in Shanklin. The water company has been talking to hundreds of customers in order to help trace the property misconnections. Wastewater pipes are incorrectly plumbed and this means that flows from toilets and kitchens and bathrooms run out to the sea without any treatment at all. This is a very important issue and many people are working hard to fix it. Dog waste on the beach is another issue that is being taken care of.
