Water quality warnings have been issued for South West beach. Large amounts of recent rainfall have led to overwhelmed drainage systems. As a result, raw sewage is being pumped into the South West beach area. Outdated drainage and sewage infrastructure have been blamed for the inability to maintain these high levels of rainfall.
