Thames Water was found guilty of breaching its environmental permit and has been fined £220,000 for allowing partially treated sewage and storm discharge to enter River Blackwater. The dump killed a number of types of fish including Perch, Minnow, and Chub. The river also flows through a Site of Special Scientific Interest, which could affect the scientists’ findings.
