Residents living in 3600 properties in Thorne and Moorends have not been able to drink water out of the tap due to bacteria. They have needed to boil the water prior to consumption. Yorkshire Water gave these residents £30 as a “good will” payment. They are still trying to ascertain the cause of the bacteria. They have said to continue boiling water until informed otherwise by officials.
