As of May, a blanket ban of “legal highs” became law in the UK. But according to a BBC investigation, China-based suppliers of substances such as synthetic cannabis are still getting their products into the UK. These suppliers provided an undercover reporter with video footage of their drug production facilities. One addict, Sam, feels the ban just made things worse because the drugs are still sold on the black market and the quality varies. Last year China banned 116 substances used in making legal highs but the drugs are still on the UK streets and available online.
