Hard Water Could Affect Catfish

Scientists have found that keeping fish in hard water can cause columnaris disease in catfish. Columnaris disease causeds skin and gill lesions on the fish and could affect other freshwater fish as well. This disease alone can cost the aquaculture industry $40-$50 million each year.
