David Lloyd, one of the UK’s biggest leisure companies has announced that it is going to consolidate all of it’s 84 clubs water supplies to one provider rather than the current 15. The supplier (water plus) is the joint venture of severn trent and united utilities. The ability to do this comes as the UK’s gradual opening up of the water supply market continues. From 1st of April 2017 all businesses in the UK will be able to freely choose their supplier.
Key Takeaways:
- David Lloyd has switched to newly-formed retailer Water Plus to supply all 84 of its UK health clubs and gyms.
- As of April next year, Water Plus will provide a single point of contact for water billing at all of the company’s fitness centres.
- David Lloyd joins a handful of other businesses that have switched water suppliers ahead of next year’s market deregulation.
“As of April next year, when the business retail water market opens to competition, Water Plus will provide a single point of contact for water billing at all of the company’s fitness centres.”
