An emergency 999 call for a body floating in the water turned out to be a false alarm. On a Wednesday a citizen spotted a body floating in thee creek and called the police who later found that it was a bronze, life size sculpture of a human. Artist Laurence Edwards made the sculpture that was named “A Thousand Tides.” The sculpture was purposefully placed in the river and was meant to sink to the bottom. The artist had some worries that someone would see it and call the police.

Key Takeaways:

  • firemen, policemen, and crossing guards were called to the creek to investigate the body in the water
  • turns out, this was actually a bronze statue that was identical to the body of a human and has been in the creek for over a year
