According to the Beverage Marketing Corporation, as of 2016 Americans are drinking more bottled water than they are bottled soda. This is thought to be due to a combination of the health concerns about drinking soda and the sugar tax. The UK has also implemented this sugar tax. Both America and the UK are aiming to prevent obesity and diabetes, especially when it comes to children. Although this trend towards drinking bottled water and decreasing bottled soda consumption is unexpected, it is good for the health of our children and shows promise for the future.
