Volcanic Ash Contaminates Chilean Water

The ashes from the latest Calbuco volcanic eruption have affected the drinking water of Chile’s southeastern region. The airborne ash was carried by the wind and landed into the water supplies of Cochamo and Ensenada. The government is assisting by offering citizens 60 liters of bottled water, but that is not expected to meet the needs of the people.
