Water has been in the news consistently within recent memory. Reports of multi-year droughts in various parts of the world and water debates within Europe have been published nearly weekly. Sadly, studies are showing that those stories are going to multiply.

The International Food Policy Research Institute and Veolia indicate that the entire world is on a path where by 2050 one out of three people will be exposed to water pollution from increased amounts of nitrogen and phosphorous. This is due to the expansion of human population, increased agricultural activity, and economic development that create waste that seeps into natural water supplies.
