Last week, Kenya set up the first public-private water fund that brings together businesses, utilities, government, conservation groups, and farmers to fund upstream water conservation. The Upper Tana-Nairobi Water Fund was started up by Nature Conservancy, which has used this model in the past in Latin America. Some of Kenya’s partners include Coca-Cola, KenGen, and the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company.
