Pesticides have come under fire for groundwater contamination, but herbicides have been under fire recently. Farmers use herbicides to attack weeds, but it allows for plant growth unlike traditional pesticides, however many are concerned what toxins may remain that would carry over into food and water supplies. It turns out that the fear is justified.

Studies by the EPA show that the presence of herbicides in drinking water not only have a number of health risks to the consumer, but also to any babies being carried by an expectant mother. Fortunately, the use of herbicides is more controlled in the UK than in the US, however it is important to research where your drinking water is coming from in order to avoid the risk.
