When dealing with life, at one time or another we will run into some event that will impact us negatively. It is how we deal with that negative that will affect our health. It is easy to let life and those bad times really bring us down but when we fail to get a grip on it we can actually create stress hormones in our blood that will literally make us sick. Studies have shown that people who handled dire situations on a positive note actually fared better. So much so that they had the upper hand in their mind over matter in regards to their immune system. Also, having a positive outlook by default helps us to take better care of ourselves. So we all most try to use our pain for a good purpose as some people have done when facing a life threatening event. They found they could do more and push themselves like they never had before.

Key Takeaways:

  • Your attitude can and will affect your health. Happy people that manage to place a buffer between them and the negative has literally made them mentally well off.
  • Mind over matter plays a huge role. Studies have shown that people who think positive, even in a dire situation can have power over their immune system. They had less stress hormones in their blood.
  • Choosing to be positive in any situation will help you grab control of your destiny and enable you to do things you never may have done had you let negativity rule.

“Some researchers think that pessimism may stress you out, too, boosting levels of destructive stress hormones in your bloodstream. Of course, it’s also possible that having a positive attitude toward life makes you more likely to take better care of yourself.”
