WRI Encourages China to Use Desalination Sparingly

The World Resources Institute is imploring to the China to only use their desalination plant as a back-up resource for fresh water needs due to its environmental impact. China hopes to produce 3 million m3/day of desalinated water by 2020, but doing so would dramatically increase greenhouse gas emissions.
