The Dead Sea is Dying

The popular tourist spot and storied Dead Sea is rapidly shrinking, losing an average of one meter every year. Experts believe that this is due to a large reduction of water flowing from the Jordan River into the sea. The increased consumption of the Jordan River’s waters may also be a factor.
