In bangladesh, there were millions of “tube-wells” that were installed in the the 1940’s through the 1970’s that delivered water. In the 1980’s though, there begin to be evidence of arsenic poisoning. Arsenic can not be detected, and many people started to develop lesions on their bodies. Because of these wells, you can be left scarred with black patches, or be amongst the estimated 43,000 that die each year.
