A group of Norwich area runners is meeting regularly to not only get fit but to give back to their local community together. GoodGym started in 2008 and recently launched a subgroup in Norwich with a group of 21 runners. The GoodGym concept is to get together and run, but also do something positive for the community during the routine. This could include weeding at a community garden, or picking up litter along the running route. It’s free to join and the runs tend to be on the more relaxed side to allow people of all fitness levels to participate.

- The first outing taken on by the initiative was to Grapes Hill Community Garden, where the runners provided some weeding.
“We work on a maximum radius of 5km’s for our destinations and once we get there we spend about 30 minutes either cleaning, gardening or helping out however we can before heading back.”
