More water for Makkah

The consultancy Arcadis will be working with National Water Company to develop and manage a drinking water, wastewater, and treated sewage effluent master plan for Makkah.

The city of Makkah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia sees its population triple during Muslim religious festivals, putting pressure on basic services.

The study is part of a master plan to provide more water and wastewater services to the region, as currently coverage is around 65 percent.
