Increasing the water table in peatland can actually hold the key to reducing UK’s greenhouse gas emissions. It turns out that increasing the water table could help with the reduction of global warming as well as boost crop yields. The research was lead by people from the University of Sheffield. Agriculture is a big contributing factor to greenhouse gases.
