WATER: E is for Education

On September 23, 2016, in Commentary, by Erik

In India, the way used to be that children would walk and find water for their families. Since Water.org came to be, that is not the case. Water.org does that work for the children now, so they can get a good education. They help prevent children, and everyone in their village from getting water-borne illnesses by helping to provide clean drinking water.

Key Takeaways:

  • In a country where more than 77 million people lack access to safe water and 769 million haven’t improved sanitation, Water.org applied smart thinking to changing this.
  • No longer are the children of this village at a high risk of water-borne illness. No longer is their time spent walking to find and collect water
  • With health and time on their side, they can go to school, get educations, and look forward to a bright future.
