The British government is going to enact a ban on so called “microbeads.” Microbeads are tiny pieces of plastic used in shampoos and body wash. They are supposed to feel soothing on the skin. But since they are plastic they don’t biodegrad and they stay in the water forever. The ban will come into effect in 2017.
