When you are washing the dishes in the sink, it’s easy to forget what is going down the drain. Many people are washing down cooking fat and grease, which can congeal and back up sewage systems and water treatment plants. However, a UK student has found a solution.

James Seers of Brunel University has designed an award-winning filtration that system that collects and stores grease and fats to allow wastewater to travel more freely. Not only that, but the collected fat can be reused as biodiesel feedstock.
