For the past couple weeks, over 300,000 homes in Lancashire had to boil their tap water and restrict their usage. United Utilities discovered a parasite outbreak within the tap water which would have made residents deathly ill. There is progress as many now have the boiling restriction lifted.

Another 86,000 homes can return to using their tap water normally now that cryptosporidium, the deadly parasite, is no longer found in their water supply.
