Bacteria Could Clean Uranium-Polluted Water

A team of scientists at Rutgers University have discovered a strain of bacteria that can help clean up groundwater that has been polluted by uranium. This strain of bacteria “breathes” uranium and detoxifies it. This breakthrough could help freshwater resources in areas where nuclear weapons were created and improperly disposed waste.
