Millions of UK citizens are visiting their doctor for treatment for chronic fatigue, aches, and pains. A recent survey of 300 general practitioners has shown the main culprit of many of these health complaints: dehydration. In fact, one out of five patients go to the doctor with symptoms that can be resolved by merely drinking water.
NHS guidelines state that women should drink 1.6 liters of water a day and men should drink 2 liters in order to feel functional. This includes fluid intake from coffee, juice, and tea, but water is a better resource since it doesn’t contain any caffeine or sugar. So if you feel run down, have a few extra glasses of water before making a doctor’s appointment.
