A Florida couple is under investigation after the wife, Maria McCormick, posted a video of her husband’s alleged cruelty to a group of manatees. The video shows Scott McCormick dumping a bucket of water into St John’s River. Shortly after, a herd of manatees emerges violently from the water about 60 feet away from Scott. Maria says that Scott discovered this when clearing the water from their boat after a storm. The public’s reaction to the video was one of outrage, claiming it was harassment towards the manatees. If convicted of animal cruelty, the two could spend up to 60 days in prison.
