The government is tapering plans to crack down on sugary foods produced by companies in the UK. According to a leaked proposal, advertisements for unhealthy foods will not be restricted from airing before 9pm. While the government will threaten a legal maximum on sugar content, for now the industry will be given a six month period to come up with a plan to reduce sugar in products for children.
