Londons very own Reuters has become the latest British supermarket to pledge that by 2025 all of it’s own brand plastic will be reusable, recyable or compostable. This is Britan’s fuorth largest grocer, which unlike its rivals makes about 30 percent of the food that it sells. They stated that they would work through to identify, reduce and remove any unnecessary plastice packaging. The supermarket industry as a whole is under pressure to act on wast given growing conercerns from the public on the effects of damage that it has on the enviroment. Prime Minister Theresa May has pledgerdto eradicate avoidable plastic wast by 2042 as part of a national plan of action.
