In most developed nations, water looks like it’s been figured out. Many major cities and towns have water utility and treatment centers in place. However, appearances can be deceiving. On the World Economic Forum’s list of global concerns, water crises rank third on the list. Why is that so high?
Well, due to rapid population growth and economic development, many fresh water supplies are in danger of drying up. Businesses also contribute heavily into water pollution with manufacturing plants being so close to streams and rivers. This also affects business as well because many plants for manufacturing computer hard drives are closing down. Companies such as Coca Cola are also running out of fresh water for their products. Meaningful conservation and reform is needed in order to sustain water for human rights and the economy. For more on this topic, please click here:: Water, water everywhere… or is it?
